An eight day, silver plated, mechanical desk or bedside clock. This is a very rare and beautifully designed piece, that is exceptionally handsome. The square case has a very distinctive square pattern running throughout the front and sides, which also runs into the fabulous dial. The hour markers are picked out with small gold plated flat topped balls, with gold plated dauphine hands, and a straight gold plated hand to distinguish the alarm hand.
The dial is marked Cartier, and antimagnetic, along with the eight day fifteen jewel lever printing above the six o'clock marker. The Swiss printing is legible below the six o'clock marker, and is actually printed on the original crystal. This would often be lost if there was any damage sustained to the original crystal, so it is good to see this present and in super condition.
The clock is powered a mechanical, hand wound, eight day the fifteen jewel lever, which is Swiss made. This is wound from the back of the clock, where the alarm winder, and setting knobs are located. The alarm can be switched off with a slide, if it is not required.
The clock is in magnificent condition overall. Signed Cartier Made in Switzerland. Cartier Reference numbers stamped on the back of the clock movement, along with the model number stamped into the rear plate. Circa 1960's.
